2024-09-15 Hoboken Meet Our Rail Fleet: Past and Present

For the NJ Transit "Meet Our Rail Fleet: Past and Present" event on Sunday, September 15, 2024, a number of locomotives and cars were brought to Hoboken Terminal. Representing 2 eras of NJT Transit predecessor history, NJTR 4210 (GP40PH-2B) is painted in an Erie Railroad paint scheme. NJTR 4101 (GP40PH-2B) and 3372 (U34CH) are wearing variations on the New Jersey Department of Transportation scheme, with 3372 also displaying an EL for Erie Lackawanna. In the background, the terminal clock tower is another heritage item with its "Lackawanna" name, though it can be seen 365 days a year. The one day event drew substantial crowds from across the region.

Hoboken Meet Our Rail Fleet: Past and Present In 2024. On Sunday, September 15, 2024, NJ Transit hosted an event for the public to have an opportunity to view and photograph its roster of special scheme equipment. Also on display were a pair of museum visitors from the local area. After a two plus decade absence, this free event made its return last year, following in the tradition of the original Hoboken Festival that was a staple of 80s and 90s railfanning in the Garden State.
