Stripes Are In Again! MTA NYCT Subway R44 5240 can be found at the New York Transit Museum located in the former Court Street Station in Brooklyn, New York. Recently, the 'Bicentennial Stripe' and number "1776" were added to the car, replicating the design that was on R46s 680 (1776) and 681 (1976) when the museum opened in 1976. Both of these R46s were recently scrapped, but the rumor mill suggests that others will be preserved as part of the collection.
