Adirondack Railroad 1835, Moose River, McKeever, New York
Notchin' up. On the afternoon of Sunday, September 23, 2018, Adirondack Scenic Railroad 1835 (RS18u, neé-CP 8780, RS18, 5/1958), heads back to Utica, NY with a trainload of travelers. The MLW puts out a nice head of smoke as it hauls four cars across the Moose River on the former New York Central Adirondack Branch. Once the route of overnight trains to Lake Placid, it has today become divided as part tourist railroad and part center of controversy over conversion to trails.
