Look 'Em In The Eye One Last Time. The surprise announcement of the Amtrak collaboration with Dovetail Games/Train Sim World 2 that resulted in Amtrak ACS-64 662 being "wrapped" in Phase III in December of 2021 was a wonderful addition to the 50th Anniversary program. The last run that AMTK 662 would make with this wrap was on Sunday, September 4, 2022 leading Amtrak Train 19 (Crescent) seen here about to lean into the curve at Elizabeth, New Jersey as it heads towards Washington D.C., where it will be replaced with diesel power for the train to continue on to New Orleans, Louisiana. This week, the motor was brought up to the Amtrak Wilmington Shop as part of its scheduled maintenance cycle and when completed it will likely emerge in its Phase V paint.
