Amtrak Maple Leaf crossing the Mohawk River in Pattersonville, New York
A Different Mohawk River Crossing. On Sunday, April 24, 2016, a CSX work project necessitated Amtrak's diversion over the Selkirk/Carman Branch from CP169 at Mohawk. This bridge is normally only used by CSX trains bound for Selkirk Yard and beyond, but is a favorite spot of area railfans. AMTK 159 (P42DC) leads Train 64 (Maple Leaf) on the last detour run of the day.
