Hiding In Plain Sight. Amtrak 241 was double ended on Friday, June 21, 2024, as operational issues led to some trains being turned in the station in New York Penn/Moynihan Train Hall. At first glance, P42DC AMTK 145 (Phase III, 40th Anniversary) looks like the 18 P32s that normally operate here, but the large "AMTRAK" name on the side between the 1971 and 2011 is the giveaway. While other P42 heritage units have occasionally visited the Hudson Line, this unit passing through was quite rare. Leading is AMTK 716, also painted Phase III, but with logos for Empire Service.
