Once upon a time, the deck of the vessel was still in place blocking all kinds of views. Today, the top is gone, and the tide was low enough to almost walk out to stand on top. But the optical illusion here is telephoto induced - the wreck is on the west bank of the Hudson River, the train is on the east.
