June 18, 2016 during the "Farewell To The AEM-7" tour
Farewell 1100. Today, Thursday, November 13, 2025, AMTK 1100 was transported off of the premises at the Amtrak Wilmington, Delaware shop by truck . In January of 1952, it began life as USAX 1602 (80T, GE), but for many years it has served as the shop switcher in Wilmington. Though not often seen by the public, it has served the railroad faithfully by moving much more modern electric locomotives in and out of the shop for repair. Thank you for your service 1100, you will be missed.
