Serving Washington County. It is almost hard to believe today that 8 years ago, on March 5, 2018, the Batten Kill Railroad only had two locomotives. And at that time, it was rare to see both of them running. Both Alco RS-3s 605 and 4116 were fired up to switch at Cargill in Salem, New York, that snowy morning due to a significant volume of cars. BKRR 605 wears a paint scheme with the signature large "Batten Kill" letters, which have since also been applied to RS-36 5015, one of several additional locomotives that have arrived on the property.
