The BNSF OCS Handoff During the overnight of Sunday, September 21, 2025, to Monday, September 22, 2025, the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Office Car Special was moved from CSX Selkirk Yard in Selkirk, New York to the Long Island Rail Road Garden City–Mitchel Field Secondary. The train will serve as the railroad's base of operations for business during the Ryder Cup PGA competition at Black Course at Bethpage State Park. The train will be parked while on Long Island, and is not planned to operate before the end of the event. This change from the original plan was due to clearance issues on MTA Metro-North Railroad that may have caused it to hit the third rail had it continued, as the third rail on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is at a different height. Amtrak, CSX, New York & Atlantic Railway, and the LIRR made quick work of this train by moving:
1- Amtrak power from Amtrak's Albany Rensselaer Yard to Selkirk over the Hudson Line, and Schodack and Castleton Subdivisions
2 - Amtrak Train 847 (AMTK 109-145) from Selkirk, NY to Springfield, MA over the Castleton and Berkshire Subdivisions
3 - Springfield, MA to New Haven, CT via the Mill River To Springfield Line
4- New Haven, CT to the Bronx, NY via the MNR New Haven and Amtrak Northeast Corridor Line
5 - Change to CSX power, Train L017 (CSXT 6205) - Bronx, NY to Fresh Pond, Queens, New York via he Hell Gate Bridge/Fremont Secondary (New York Connecting Railroad)
6 - Change to LIRR power - Fresh Pond, Queens, New York to Garden City, New York via the Lower Montauk Branch, Main Line, Hempstead Branch and finally arrived at the Garden City–Mitchel Field Secondary.
