Caltrain JPBX 505, San Francisco, California

The Solo SPV Order. When the Budd Company produced the SPV-2000, there were ultimately four original buyers. Connecticut DOT purchased 13, Metro-North Railroad 10, and ONCF (the Moroccan state railways) 6 for the King's personal train. The fourth, the Federal Railroad Adminstration, purchased a single car and numbered it T-10 and used it for track geometry. T-10 served with the FRA until 2000, when it was sold to Caltrain and became JPBX 505, where it is seen sitting in the San Francisco, California yard on April 4, 2012. Although commonly referred to erroneously as a "former Metroliner" or "AmFleet", it was neither, and was built new as an SPV-2000.
