DCLR 19, Georgetown, Delaware

Fire Up 19! On Friday, November 19, 2021, Delaware Coastline Railroad 19 (ex-MDDE 19, exx-CR 9846, exxx-PC 9846, exxxx-PRR 9846, née-PRR 8426, Alco T6, 3/1958) was brought out of its indoor home to do a little switching. After Delmarva Central Railroad won the bid to take over the contract with the State of Delaware to operate what had been DCLR's service area, which was effective January 1, 2019, the DCLR ceased moving customer freight. There were still some assets of the railroad that needed to be moved around for disposition, and so the engine was brought out of its secure (and warm) indoor home to go to work. This is 1 of only 57 Alco T6 units built, and only a handful remain today in museums or on shorelines.
