CSX Works The Newburgh Industrial. On September 3, 2025, CSX L040 was working on the Newburgh Industrial (CSX Newburgh Industrial Track) with CSXT 8400 (née-WM 7449, SD40, 7/1969) as the power. The Newburgh Industrial is formerly the Erie Railroad Newburgh Branch, and so was only joined as a unified operation with the former New York Central West Shore (CSX River Sub) in 1976 under Conrail. It once traveled across Orange County from Newburgh, New York to Greycourt, New York passing under Moodna Viaduct, but today is abandoned past Vails Gate, New York. A single customer on the Newburgh Industrial Track, East Coast Railroad Services, receives service weekly to pick up cars filled with scrap metal.
