15 Years Ago Today....Rare Crossing. On December 11, 2010, a then-routine light power move on CSX crossed 6th & Main Streets in Darby, Pennsylvania. It was led by CSXT 4833, one of 20 early production EMD SD70ACes (4831-4850, EMD, 4/2004-9/2004) that CSX operated for a relatively short period of time. Its movement caused SEPTA Kawasaki Trolley (K-Car) 9014 on the Route 11 to hold as it passed. This crossing is one of 2 in the United States where trolley cars cross a Class I Railroad at grade, the other is in Tampa, Florida on the TECO system. CSX would later roster 10 SD70AHs for an even shorter run, but has otherwise not acquired any modern EMD widecab power.
