Lumbering Up to Darien. CSX L017, led by CSXT GP40-2 6239 (née BO 4340, GP38-2S, 3/1979), was sitting at the Stamford, Connecticut, station during the early morning hours of Friday, September 25, 2026. The train was waiting for the last New Haven-bound MTA Metro-North Railroad train to clear the area before a multi-hour gap in commuter traffic. The loaded lumber cars and caboose on the point indicate that the train is ready to shove to Ring's End Lumber in Darien, Connecticut, the easternmost customer served by this local.
