CSX M702 Runs In Daylight. On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, a series of events led to the cars of M702 (Oak Point, Bronx, NY - Selkirk, NY) being tied down in Croton-On-Hudson, New York, overnight. The power on M701 (Selkirk, NY - Oak Point, Bronx, NY) experienced mechanical problems near Cold Spring, New York, leading M702 to park its train and bring the locomotives up to grab the consist and complete the southbound trip. In the morning, CSX dispatched the AC44CW pair of CSXT 474 and 477 from Selkirk to retrieve M702. Normally, all freight will pass through this area of the Hudson Line in the dark, and its presence is little known to daylight commuters. Of all of the "rare" daylight freights in the region that may appear from time to time on passenger commuter lines, one of the most unusual is the northbound M702 from this far down the line.
