Happy 113th Birthday, Grand Central Terminal! On February 2, 1913, the New York Central & Hudson River Railroad opened the Beaux-Arts style Reed and Stem/Warren and Wetmore-designed Grand Central Terminal to the public. Though not part of the general public's experience, this view from the upper walkways was part of an Electric Railroaders Association tour on February 17, 2007, and shows the main floor from above, looking east. At that time, a restaurant called Metrazur occupied the east balcony. On July 1, 2011, the restaurant closed to make way for the Apple Store, which opened on December 9, 2011. The timeless "Meet Me At The Clock" Information Booth (lower middle) is the central feature of the concourse in this legendary space.
