GVRX 2014, Grapevine Station, Grapevine, Texas

Rainy Night On The Grapevine. Grapevine Vintage Railroad FL9 2014 is far from its native home, but is undoubtedly a part of the set of the most frequently operated five-axles in America today, as seen on the evening of Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Built by EMD in 10/1960 as New Haven 2041, the engine would serve travelers to New York City under Penn Central (5041), Conrail (5041) and Metro-North/CDOT as 2014. As part of a sale of surplus assets by the state of Connecticut in 2018, this unit and GVRX 2016 made their way to Texas. The coaches are imports as well, former electric MUs from the Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railway in New Jersey.
