MTA LIRR 168 157 with MNCW 4146, New Rochelle, New York
PTC Would Have Prevented This. MTA LIRR MP15ACs 168 and 157 (EMD, 1977) were at there MTA Metro-North Railroad New Rochelle, New York Station on September 29, 2016 to pick up four M7As, including MNCW 4146. The cars were on their way to the Arch Street Shop in Long Island City, Queens, New York to have PTC installed. With a significant number of cars and locomotives that needed PTC equipment to meet required deadlines, the practice was established to have the electric MU fleets of both Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road worked on at this shop, allowing for this then common, but normally unusual scene.
