MBTA-Keolis Geometry Extra With CTRail Wrapped MBB Cars. On Saturday, June 22, 2024, an interesting consist headed out across the MBTA Commuter Rail system to inspect track geometry on various lines. Recently returned MBB cars that had been leased to CTRail in Connecticut were still wearing their CTRail wraps, making for a three railroad appearance on the train, though they have always been owned by MBTA. The Amtrak "Corridor Clipper" was on loan for this purpose, and will be returned to Amtrak when this set of Geometry Trains is completed. In this video the train covered potions of the Needham and Franklin/​Foxboro Lines. The data gained from this kind of inspection is used to determine what repairs may be needed for planning upcoming work projects.
