One RDC-1. Seven years ago today, on July 21, 2019, a single Budd RDC-1 sat at the Mass Coastal Yard in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Cape Cod Central 1001 (ex-MBTA 6143, neé-BM 6143, RDC 1, Budd, 7/1955) spent its entire life in New England. It managed to escape the "Boise Budd" rebuilds that de-motorized other MBTA RDCs, though by 2019, it had reportedly already been inactive for a decade and has only moved in the yard since this photograph was recorded.
