Throwback Thursday. On a hot and hazy June 16, 2006, a modest 4 car train of Metra "Highliner" MU Coaches led by 1515 on train 315 (built by St. Louis, 1971-72, rebuilt by Amerail) approaches the 55th-56th-57th Street Station in Chicago, Illinois. These cars were purchased by Chicago South Suburban Mass Transit District and origianlly operated by Illinois Central. 10 years later in 2016, all of the original Highliners were retired and repalced with Highliner IIs.
