MTA Metro-North Railroad Train 839, MNCW 231 (New Haven McGinnis)

Plant Your Feet, Move Your Lens. On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the usual colorful parade of locomotives was assigned to Grand Central Terminal to Poughkeepsie, New York trains, and traveled under a cloudless sky. On some days, the best move is to drive around to a bunch of places. But on this day, I chose to stay on the Bear Mountain Bridge, change angles, and let the trains roll by. Of the 31 P32AC-DMs operated by MTA Metro-North Railroad, 11 are painted in heritage (predecessor railroads) or special interest paint schemes. So before summer ends, go out and see what happens; you might be surprised by the odds of seeing something interesting just by having some patience.
