Vacuum Train Move. On the night of December 15, 2025, Loram LRV-10 LMIX 510 (Specialty excavating-Self propelled excavating machine/belt conveyor) moved through the MTA Metro-North Railroad Riverdale Station in the Bronx, New York in the snow while towing MNCW 1254 (Side dump) and 1403 (Caboose). The train had been sitting on track 6 for several days, where it was more easily examined in detail without the snow. Loram describes the LRV as “a powerful, rail-mounted specialty excavating machine that removes up to 50 cubic yards of material per hour using mechanical agitation and airflow.” During this move, the vacuum was in use while the train was deadheaded to Croton Harmon.
