AMMO At MO. The MTA Metro-North Railroad AMMO (AM MOtt Haven) locomotive for the day, MNCW 105 (ex-CR 3637, née RDG 3637, GP35, EMD, 8/1964), was found sitting on Track 7 at Mott Haven in the Bronx, New York, on the morning of September 1, 2018. In the background on the left is the Bronx General Post Office, which opened on May 15, 1937, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since then, the building has been sold and is currently leased by the City University of New York to create a life-science facility for Hostos Community College. On the right is the former MO Tower. This tower controlled New York Central's Mott Haven coach yard from about 1907 until it closed in 1973, but the building still exists today to house crew facilities and administrative functions.
