MTA Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line Inspection Train

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, MTA Metro-North Railroad operated an Inspection Train round-trip between Grand Central Terminal in New York, New York, and Norwalk, Connecticut, using P32AC-DM MNCW 216, the railroad's newest heritage unit, MNCW 310, the newest Siemens SC42-DM to be accepted, and the standard 3 Inspection Cars. MNCW 216 celebrates the contributions and sacrifice of military veterans. The cars are older, one former New York Central (MN 3) and the other two former Lackawanna Railroad (MN 1 and MN 2). The Inspection Train gives railroad executives and management the opportunity to inspect many ongoing, completed, and needed improvements on the line. For this trip, the train brought together participants in the LEAD Program from railroads across the country, the next generation of transportation leaders.
