Morristown & Erie Railway 20, Morristown, NJ
The Multitudes In Morristown. A visit to the Morristown and Erie Railway on March 29, 2019 showed a wide variety of equipment. ME 20 (née-RFP 91, SW1500, 10/1966) is pulling NJTR GP40PH-2 4102 (ex-NJT 4104, née-CNJ 3675, GP40P, 10/1968) down the hill. It will join NJTR GP40PH-2B 4216 (ex-CR 3204, née-PC 3204, GP40) to have various PTC related upgrades installed by tenant contractor Alstom. ME 3573 (ex-CN 2473, M420W, 12/1976) would be resold and see time at the Bel Del Railroad, and subsequently resold again to the Adirondack Railroad. The boldly painted passenger car was built in 1948 by the Pullman-Standard Car Company for the Chicago, Burlington, & Quincy Railway, one of 6 round-end obs/sleeper/buffet cars manufactured for the Northern Pacific's North Coast Limited, and has since been painted to NP Greens.
