MTA NYCT Bus 143, Route M30, New York, New York
18 Years Ago Today.....The M30 Is Gone But Not Forgotten
The M30 was a sort of compromise of the M31 and M72, going from York across 72 Street, down Madison/Up 5 Avenue, and 57 Street west. The good book of Wiki Fandom tells us that it was created by the Fifth Avenue Coach Company in 1900 and numbered Route 6, and was eliminated on June 27, 2010 during a period of budget cuts.
MTA NYCT Bus 143 (Orion V) was delivered as 93143 in 1993. Then someone realized that everyone would call their Community Board and complain that they did not have the newest buses, and so the order was renumbered into a 3-digit series. The Orion V fleet is long gone, but NYCT 101 is part of the Transit Museum Fleet.
