Light Rail In Heavy Snow. Though it was 15 years ago, on January 31, 2011, when an onboard photo captured inbound NJT Hudson-Bergen Light Rail car 2039 near Bergen Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey, it could just as easily be today. This location on the West Side Avenue Branch is in a cut and is inaccessible by other means. Though frequently overlooked by electric traction fans, both this operation and Newark Light Rail transport thousands of people a day, and they are the only electric light rail systems on the East Coast between Philadelphia and Boston.
