NJ Transit Train 4680, NJTR 4210 (Erie Heritage), North Philadelphia Station, Pennsylvania
Erie By GD. On Sunday, April 14, 2024, NJ TRANSIT Train 4680 was led by NJTR 4210 (GP40PH-2B, Erie Railroad Heritage), seen passing the long shuttered 1914 Châteauesque style North Philadelphia tower at the North Philadelphia Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Unsurprising in a city of murals is the "City of Brotherly LOVE" painted on the track facing side. Unnoticed when the photo was recorded is the missing fireman's side ditch light. After unexpected and intermittent service over the prior few weeks on the Atlantic City Line, the locomotive was removed from service that night and eventually sent to the Meadows Maintenance Complex for repairs.
