Tri-State Railway Historical Society "Santa Train", NJ Transit 4109 and 4101, Passaic River, Newark, New Jersey
Sunrise Santa Train. Not long after sunrise on Saturday, December 10, 2022, the annual Tri-State Railway Historical Society "Santa Train" crossed the Passaic River into Newark, New Jersey on the way to bring 4 train loads of fun and holiday cheer to its passengers. The power for the day, NJ TRANSIT GP40PH-2s 4109 (CNJ heritage) and 4101 (NJDOT heritage), were paired up for the second time since they were both repainted. Both were delivered in 1968 for the CNJ, and thus were like "foreign power" on this former Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railway line.
