NJ Transit Pennsylvania Railroad Heritage Engine 4636 at Harrison, New Jersey
Standard Railroad power on the Road Of Anthracite. NJ Transit Train 6216 passed over the Passaic River in Newark, NJ on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in Midtown Direct Service to New York's Penn Station with ALP46A 4636 (Pennsylvania Heritage) leading. This view of the river shows both levels of the bridge. Originally trains operated on the lower level and the upper level was built as a provision. Later the line was elevated through Newark and Harrison, the bridge was slightly raised and moved up river. When trains were shifted to the upper level, the track connections were removed, and the only bridge abutments remains of the original location.
