New York City's Brightliners On The A Line Outdoors. During the afternoon of Wednesday, April 15, 2026, a six-car train of Budd R32s made a non-revenue trip on part of the A Line. The 60-plus-year-old cars are fan favorites and are nicknamed “Brightliners” for their shiny stainless-steel exteriors. These cars are regularly part of museum excursions, film shoots, and safety drills.
