Farewell To Yankee Stadium. Before the final baseball game at the original (rebuilt) Yankee Stadium on September 21, 2008, Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA NYCT Subway/New York Transit Museum operated a train from Grand Central to (the then called) Yankee Stadium-161 Street Station on the 4 Line. The train is seen passing East 157 Street in the Bronx, New York from the escalator bank near Gate 6, and as such is a view that is no longer available....and that day you had to have a very expensive ticket! The four-car "Lo-V" train is actually several older than the Stadium's 1923 original build date, and running them on special game days such as Opening Day and for the playoffs, is a tradition that carries on to present day.
