NS 4270, Strasburg Railroad Ronks, Pennsylvania

A Unique Scene At Strasburg. The crowd gathered in Ronks, Pennsylvania at the end of the day on Sunday, June 14, 2015 to see Norfolk Southern F9A 4270 (née-BO 937, EMD, F7A, 1/1952), trailing as it was towed across Ronks Road. Along with NS 4271, NS 7 (Pennsylvania) and NS 27 (Exhibit Car), it had been on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania for the weekend, and was returning home across the Strasburg Rail Road. This locomotive was sold by NS and is now owned by the Reading and Northern Railroad as their RBMN 270. In the background, "J Tower" stands guard over the interlocking. Built in 1885, it spent its life in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, before being brought to the SRR by the Lancaster NRHS.
