"The GAP" - Grand Army Plaza. It is located where Flatbush Avenue meets up with Prospect Park in Brooklyn. This is the more famous of the 2 in New York City. The other Grand Army Plaza is by the southwest corner of Central Park at 5th Avenue and 59th-60th Streets, and thus the Plaza Hotel. Even many Manhattan residents are not aware of the name.

Good photos of the Soldiers And Sailors Memorial are tough. The area is cluttered with ambient light and poles, pedestrians and cars. So I turned the camera to the sky to shoot the underside of the arch as well.
