R62A Subway Cars, Work Train, And More In The Snow On The 4 Line. On Saturday, January 17, 2026, there was a lot to see on the 4 Line in the Bronx, New York. Work trains in action as part of a project to replace tracks and adjacent assets that are approaching the end of their useful life. In coordination with other work, four sets of R-62A cars normally assigned to 6 Line service were used on the 4 Line. The R-62As are extremely similar to the Kawasaki-built R-62s that once ruled this line, but have been replaced exclusively by the R-142 class for many years. There was heavy snow during some periods of the afternoon, adding to the scene!
