19 Years Ago Today....MTA Bus Fishbowls

On July 1, 2005, Edward F. Arrigoni and the other owners transferred the bus routes, rolling stock, operations and facilities of New York Bus Service to MTA Bus, ending the independence of one of New York City's most successful private bus companies. This caused the appearance of revenue fishbowls on the MTA roster again for a short time as NYBS's GMDD T8H-5308As were included in the deal. During a tour of the facility on October 15, 2005, MTA Bus 1503 was posed next to 1502, which had retained its NYBS branding, and is part of the New York Transit Museum collection today.
