Opening Day, 2022. New York Yankees Opening Day was postponed for a day due to weather, but on April 8, 2022, baseball returned to the Bronx for the season. Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA NYCT Subway/New York Transit Museum operated not one but two vintage trains to celebrate the occasion. Both trains operated non-stop from Grand Central Station to 161 Street-Yankees and were packed by the crowds of attendees in addition to heavily photographed. After posing in front of the stadium for an (extended) early inning period, they returned to their respective yards. If you made it to the 11th inning, after being down early 3-0 to the Boston Red Sox, the Yankees won 6-5.
