The Buddy System. Pennsylvania and Southern Railway B1685 and B1674 are long time residents of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Both units spent extensive careers workig directly for the US Army before going to PSCC and working the same tracks in the Letterkenny Army Depot and the now civilian areas in the Cumberland Valley Business Park. On the night of Saturday, February 19, 2022, an engineer from the railroad poses on the steps of former USAX now PSCC 1685 (80-ton, GE, 12/1952) with a lantern at sunset while the photographers take advantage of the setting sun and the colorful sky.
