Holidays In The Oculus. The $4 billion Oculus station house near the Freedom Tower, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, was opened on March 3, 2016. It serves as the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, connecting the Battery Park Ferry Terminal, PATH (Port Authority Trans-Hudson) and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA New York City Subway lines. On the evening of Thursday, December 1, 2022, seasonal holiday decorations are in full effect for the commuters at the 5th busiest transportation hub in the New York metropolitan area as they walk through the Westfield World Trade Center Mall.
