PATH PA-4 843, Harrison Shop, Harrison, New Jersey
PA-4 843 converted for work service, distinguished by the brightly painted ends from the revenue fleet. While the PA-4s were not very old when they were removed from service, it had been decided that the PA-5 order allowed the railroad to standardize its maintenance and practices for the revenue fleet as well as replace its aged work fleet.
PATH In Transition. On April 9, 2011, The Electric Railroaders Association coordinated a tour of the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) Harrison Facility in Harrison, New Jersey, At this time over overlapping, all of PATH's five classes of cars could be found on the property. In addition, we are able to see work equipment and other pieces, many of which are no longer on the property. PATH is a 13.8-mile system of passenger rail that falls under FRA jurisdiction, and thus it is a railroad and not a 'subway'.
