The Naugatuck's Longest Santa Express Train. This year, the Railroad Museum of New England purchased three former Santa Fe Railroad Budd Hi-Level cars and former Army Kitchen Car 4083. The kitchen car was converted to a "power car", which now provides electricity for the lights and climate control in the coaches. The three 'Hi-Levels' are configured for premium passenger service. These cars were added to the four former Canadian National Railroad heavyweight coaches, New Haven REA car, and Connecticut DOT Constitution Liner (former Budd SPV) to create a ten-car train for the season. The "Santa Express" is a daytime train, operating at 12:00 PM and 2:15 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout December from the Thomaston, Connecticut station.
