San Antonio Railroad Heritage Museum, Texas & New Orleans Railroad 794, San Antonio, Texas
Sunset Route. On the night of July 18, 2020, cosmetically restored Southern Pacific Railroad (née-Texas & New Orleans Railroad) 2-8-2 794 (Alco, 1916) sits at the San Antonio Railroad Heritage Museum at the "Sunset Route" 1902 Southern Pacific Depot at the Amtrak Station in San Antonio, Texas. From the time of its donation by SP in 1957 until 1999, it sat in Maverick Park, and was then moved to this location and has been managed by the Friends of the SP 794 since 2008. On this night, Webb Rail's "Babbling Brook" (Budd, 1949) was holding the markers on the Amtrak Texas Eagle, making for a nice vintage style combo shot.
