SEPTA 9000 Charter On Route 15 With Black Rub Rails. (Part 1) On Sunday, March 15, 2026,
Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys continued a long-standing tradition by operating the SEPTA "Super Saturday" Charter. Aha, you say, the Super Bowl is in January! As has happened in the past several times, the trip was rescheduled due to inclement weather, making this the second latest on record. For the trip, SEPTA K-Car 9000 had black tape added to its "rub rails" to add a little more original detail to its heritage paint scheme. The itinerary brought the excursion over the Route 15, which is served by PCC-IIIs or buses. The trip also marked the last run for Operator Gary Mason, who retired after over 40 years of service with SEPTA. This post presents Part 1, from Callowhill Car House to Richmond & Westmoreland.
