Once Upon A Steamtown. On July 18, 2009, both former Canadian Pacific Railways 2317 (4-6-2, Montreal Locomotive Works, 1923) and former Canadian National Railway Company 3254 (2-8-2, Canadian Locomotive Company, 1917) were having an average day of excursions, taking passengers around in the heavyweight coaches of Anthracite Railroads at Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This site, where the F. Nelson Blount collection was moved from Bellows Falls, Vermont in 1984, is largely a reconstruction of the former Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad yards and facilities. In 1995, it was acquired by the National Park Service. Within in a few years, both of these locomotives would be taken out of service and as of 2022, Baldwin Locomotive Works 26 (0-6-0) is the only operating steam engine owned by the park.
