Happy 1/10!.....It's All In The Numbers.

On December 5, 1992, the New York City Transit Authority held an event for the public at the Union Turnpike Station in Kew Gardens, Queens, New York, to display both the Bombardier-built R110B (3004 to the left) and Kawasaki-built R110A (8006 to the right) sets. These sets were constructed as demonstrators for the New Technology Trains (NTT), which would become the 21st-century subway car orders for New York City. The innovations are too numerous to list, but both trainsets featured digital signs, wider doors, and stainless steel bodies that paved the way for the initial R142 and R143 car orders.
