CSX Santa Train

The return of "The Santa Train" for 2022 was greeted with the CSX Office Car Train in its Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O) tribute paint for the first time. There are a few "first shots" that one can choose from on this route, but Pool Point in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, is one that never disappoints. On Saturday, November 19, 2022, CSX 1 (F40PH-2, ex-CSX 9998, exx-OHCR 280, née-AMTK 280, F40PHR, EMD, 4/1978) led the train over the Clinchfield Railroad's Russell Fork bridge at about a half-hour after sunrise. The train would travel the traditional route from Shelbiana, Kentucky to Kingsport, Tennessee, distributing toys for the Christmas Season.
