The Market. As part of its annual "Trolley Tunnel Blitz", SEPTA operated over its diversion trackage for 2 weeks in July, 2021. These tracks are normally only used for non-revenue runs to transfer cars between their routes and carhouses. The focus of the diversion is to allow passengers to take their normal trolley route, but transfer to the Market-Frankford Line at 40th Street-Market instead of using the trolley subway while rail replacement, lighting upgrades, and platform improvements are performed. On Thursday, July 15, 2021, SEPTA Kawasaki LRV 9016 is on a Route 34/61st-Baltimore trip, crossing Market Street with The Market At University Square in the background while showing the "ROUTE DETOURED" sign up front. On a normal weekday, over 700 trolley trips pass through the trolley subway.
