TTC 4204, Queen-Bay, Toronto, Ontario

Canada's Oldest Corporation. Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) ALRV 4204 (UTDC, 1987-1989) passes by the headquarters of the Hudson Bay Company on the afternoon of July 17, 2009 in rush hour traffic. The Hudson Bay Company was incorporated by English royal charter in 1670, and for most of its history was in the fur trade but is now recognizable as a retail store. The ALRVs had a short life by TTC standards, with the last being retired in 2019. Amongst other concerns, like their non-articulated CLRV predecessors, the cars were not wheelchair accessible, used older electronics that would have been expensive to update, and did not have air conditioning. Today this car can be found at the Halton County Radial Railway, the only ALRV preserved outside of Toronto.
